Team Selection
| Gloucestershire County is proud to offer a dynamic performance programme to help support, promote, encourage and build skills for senior archers who are interested in, or currently, competing. | |
| We:
- host several coaching sessions a year including an inter-county Round Robin practice - publish a monthly e-newsletter - maintain a private, closed group Facebook page - participate at the following County Team events: - March – Western & Welsh Counties Mixed Team Indoor Championships - May – Worcestershire Vs Gloucestershire Friendly - June - Western & Welsh Counties Mixed Team Championships and Open - September - GWAS Regional Senior Inter-County Championship - September - National County Team Championships - generate county team rankings - provide information and assistance to archers for records, rankings, classifications, etc |
|
| A Development Squad runs in parallel with the County Team and archers are invited to join based on their scores and tournament participation. | |
| County Team selection is based on scores from prestige round tournaments (1440 90m/1440 70m/York/Hereford/WA70m for LB and RC/WA50m for CU and BB). Distance shot must be appropriate to gender and bow type for senior rounds. Please note that archers in the 50+ category must shoot full senior distances to be considered for team selection. | |
| Invitation to the Development Squad is mostly by recruitment by the team manager, or recommendations made by clubs and coaches. However, if any county senior is interested in progressing to competitions, they can contact the team manager directly by completing the form below. |
