This trophy, which is an engraved tankard, is named for Tony (Slim) Lacey, a past president who presented the original Lacey Trophy to encourage inter-club competition.

It is a postal shoot and all bow types are included as the results are based on handicap. Only archers with a handicap before the shoot will be able to submit scores to the postal competition.

Each club participating nominates one night in July to shoot the National family of rounds. Archers are free to shoot any National round (including a National 20 which may be suitable for very young archers) as the results are based on handicaps but archers should be encouraged to shoot a round appropriate to their abilities.

Clubs should try to recreate competition conditions including a maximum of 6 sighter arrows and double scoring.

New National - 4 dozen at 100 yards and 2 dozen at 80 yards
Long National - 4 dozen at 80 yards and 2 dozen at 60 yards
National - 4 dozen at 60 yards and 2 dozen at 50 yards
National 50 - 4 dozen at 50 yards and 2 dozen at 40 yards
National 40 - 4 dozen at 40 yards and 2 dozen at 30 yards
National 30 - 4 dozen at 30 yards and 2 dozen at 20 yards
National 20 - 4 dozen at 20 yards and 2 dozen at 10 yards

The trophy is awarded to the winning club at the County AGM in November. The scheme is administered by the County Records Officer who should be contacted if you have any questions.
